  1. Earlier this year I made the decision to donate a large sum of my takings to Alzheimer's Society. 20% of my normal sales and 100% from the sales of my patterns and tutorials.

Since March, my patterns have really taken off and I have had a steady stream of wonderful customers buying and enjoying my designs. The money they pay, less Paypal fees, goes straight into the pot.

As of today, I have received over £380 which I'm thrilled about. As soon as my first target of £500 has been reached I will be making the first donation. Hopefully, it won't be too long and I can make a nice big donation at Christmas. Wouldn't that be great!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those lovely people who have bought my patterns and who have enabled me to do my bit for this worthwhile cause.

  2. I have seen so many wonderful items made with pyrography that I decided to have a go. And by gum, I am well and truly hooked!! I invested in a good burner and I'm buying quality wood (which unfortunately pushes the price up when I sell, but I don't buy cheap tat) and there's so much I want to burn. I love using Sycamore, Birch is a bit more tricky and pine is so soft it is a new challenge. So much to learn but what an interesting way to pass the time.

I have already posted some makes for sale. I am trying to get the prices right which is difficult when a lovely piece of Sycamore costs £9 before I start burning it! I would love to be able to keep costs down by turning my own wood, but that's another avenue to go down in the future maybe...

So, hopefully, I will be making a wide range of things to suit everyone's purse.
